The Building Craftsmen Dumfries Ltd Solway Sharks would like to welcome Luke Houston and Kieran Hair to the roster for the upcoming 2019/20 season.
Both players are products of the Solway Sharks Junior program and have represented Scotland at conference as well as being u19 Scotland internationals.
Luke is a right handed defenceman who has iced previously with the senior team and has been a regular on the scoresheet at u20’s even as a defenceman and has impressed throughout his junior career and attended GB camps.
Kieran is a left handed forward who has also played senior hockey and was a regular at both u20 and SNL last season putting in consistently impressive performances.
Both players will be looking to make the step up to senior hockey and make an immediate impression in the lineup in both the SNL and NIHL.
Head Coach Martin Grubb commented “Luke and Kieran are both players who I have seen develop through our junior set up and they have the ability and confidence to step up and contribute in this team. Luke skates well, sees the ice and can put up points from defence. Kieran is a smart player who loves to play a gritty game, get his nose dirty and plays a responsible 2-way game and I am excited to continue working with both of the players and help them transition to senior hockey”.
Luke said “Delighted to be signing for the sharks this year coming through the juniors watching them over the years. It’s a big step but looking forward to playing in the NHIL and also the SNL this year. It’s a great group of boys to be playing along side and I’m excited to get started”.
Kieran continued “I am looking forward to continuing my development with the senior team this year after playing a few games and seeing what it was all about. I am excited to play in this team and will be working hard to show my abilities to the fans and hopefully we can compete for both leagues and the cup”.
Luke Houston will wear the number 24 jersey and Kieran Hair will wear the number 15 jersey for the season ahead.
