The Building Craftsmen Dumfries Solway Sharks are pleased to announce the signing of Defenceman Patriks Grigors for the 2019/20
Season.
Grigors was part of the Murrayfield Racers team that won the SNL and Stuart Robertson Cup last season so he knows how to win and he will be hoping to continue that as a part of the Sharks roster.
The Latvian born left handed defenceman has played 2 seasons in the UK and is classed as
British trained so won’t take up an import spot and we are excited to see Patriks in a sharks jersey.
Head Coach Martin Grubb commented “Patriks comes to us on the back of a winning season in Murrayfield and felt he wanted to play more in the NIHL and continue his development and try and progress his career. We have a very good track record of developing players and getting them to the higher levels and he seen this as a positive. He is a good skater, sees the ice well and is hungry to learn and these qualities will help him do very well here and I expect him to keep developing and push for good minutes on our blue line”.
Grigors said “I am excited for an amazing opportunity and to be a part of the Sharks team. I am eager to show my defending skills in training and each game and prove my value to the team. I am looking forward to this seasons games and I hope that Sharks fans will enjoy watching each game!
Grigors will wear number 71 this season.
