The Solway Sharks are pleased to announce the re-signing of defenceman Stuart Kerr for the 24/25 season.
Stuart played a very crucial role with the Sharks in their first season at the National League level. The Dumfries born defenceman helped steady the defensive core for the Sharks with his calm and consistent play. Kerr has been a member of the Sharks family throughout his entire career, playing an important role in their numerous championship winning seasons.
Kerr had this to say regarding his re-signing with the Sharks:
I am excited to re-sign for another year and help get the team back to winning ways and playing for silverware. Can’t wait to see everybody back at the Shark Tank when the start of the season comes around.”
The 25-year-old defenceman possesses a smooth skating ability and great composure with the puck. His natural ability to lead on the ice combined with his sound positional play makes him a huge contributor to the club’s overall success. We are all delighted to have Kerzi back at the Shark Tank and look forward to seeing his contributions in the 24/25 season.
Head Coach, Martin Grubb had this to say regarding the re-signing of the hometown defenceman:
We are delighted to have Kerzi back on our blue line for another season after a solid debut season in the National. He skates really well and is composed on the puck, and I think you will see a better version of Kerzi this season with the experience of last year behind him. He has shown over the years how valuable he is to this team, and I believe he will continue to do that at this level and we are all happy to have him back and look forward to seeing him progress even further and take on more responsibility.”
