Jordan Marr Re-signs

The Solway Sharks Ice Hockey Club are delighted to announce the return of goaltender Jordan Marr for the upcoming 2025/26 season.

Marr made his debut with the Sharks last season after a successful five-year stint with the Peterborough Phantoms, where he played a pivotal role in securing five trophies in five years. His arrival in Dumfries immediately bolstered the Sharks’ defensive core, and he quickly became a fan favourite at the Shark Tank.

In his first season with Solway, Marr appeared in 48 games, posting a .885 save percentage, and was consistently relied upon in high-pressure situations. His performance was instrumental to the team’s success throughout the campaign.

Beyond his on-ice talents, what truly sets Marr apart is his elite mentality and unwavering professionalism. His preparation and leadership are invaluable assets to the club, both on the ice and in the locker room. With a career that includes NCAA hockey in the United States and experience in the UK’s top-tier Elite League, Marr brings a wealth of knowledge and composure to the Sharks roster.

Jordan had this to say regarding his re-signing:

I’m really looking forward to my second season with the Sharks. While we never achieved our main goal of making playoffs last season, I’m excited by the steps our team took, especially by our younger players.

I’m optimistic that after 2 years in the NIHL, this upcoming seasons group will use the experience gained from the past 2 years, as well as the motivation from just narrowly missing out, to push for a playoff spot and play closer to our potential.

I’m excited to see what additions we have in the off-season as I feel like we were probably only a player or two away from having that consistency you need to go into tough buildings and come away with a result. We have a fantastic rink, supportive fans and an organisation that tries to do things the right way.

Have a great summer and I’m looking forward to seeing you all at the Shark Tank!”

Marr’s re-signing represents not only a boost to the team’s goaltending depth but also reinforces the Sharks’ commitment to building a competitive and resilient squad for the season ahead.

Head Coach Martin Grubb had this to say:

We are delighted to be able to bring a goalie of Jordan’s calibre back for another season. His experience is invaluable to our young group, and you seen by his performances last season just how solid and consistent he is, and he gives his team a chance to win every night. Next season I think you see an even better version of Jordan as he’s fully settled here and knows the group and our expectations and with his winning mentality, he will be an important piece of the puzzle.”
