Arseneau Signing

The Solway Sharks are extremely pleased to announce the re-signing of Canadian defenceman Olivier Arseneau for the 24/25 season.

Arseneau made his professional debut for the Sharks last season and played a pivotal role for the club. The smooth-skating defenceman was one of the teams’ leaders in time-on-ice, logging plenty of minutes and playing in all key situations. Oliviers skating ability combined with his calm and confident decision-making with the puck allowed him to take over games on a regular basis. Finishing the season with 55 points in 54 games, Arseneau was named the teams Defenceman of the Year along with the Coaches Player of the Year award.

Olivier Arseneau had this to say regarding his re-signing with the club:

I am excited to sign back with Solway. After coming up short last season, I am ready to get back on the ice with my teammates to prove that this team has so much more to offer.”

The Sharks are ecstatic with the news that Olivier is returning for a second season with the club. An instant fan favourite, Arseneau was admired by his teammates and coaches for his team-first attitude and his amazing resiliency. The Sharks are excited to have Olivier back and cannot wait to see what he brings to the table in the 24/25 season.

Head Coach, Martin Grubb had this to say about the re-signing of his Canadian defenceman:

Olivier showed last season how good a player he is, so we are obviously delighted to be able to bring him back for a second season. His performances were outstanding last year, and he instantly became a fan favourite, and we are excited to see him continue to improve and be a real leader again for us. We are all looking forward to having him back here and he is a key piece of our puzzle.”
