The Solway Sharks are very pleased to announce the re-signing of forward Kyle Carruth on a two-way contract with the Glasgow Clan for 24/25 season.
Carruth split last season between the Solway Sharks and the Widnes Wild of the NIHL 1 gaining valuable experience at the senior level. The 17-year-old forward dressed in 31 games for the Sharks in their inaugural season in the NIHL whilst playing in 19 games for Widnes Wild, posting 18 points. The Dumfries born forward has played a vital role in Solway’s Junior programme development.
Kyle Carruth had this to say:
I took my first ever steps on this ice. Now to be stepping back on the ice as a Shark is really something special.”
Kyle brings an exciting brand of hockey with his creativity and high offensive skill set. The young forward also has valuable international experience as he has represented the GB U18’s twice. Last season was an important step in gaining exposure and confidence at the senior level. We are all thrilled to have Kyle back at the Shark Tank and look forward to seeing his contributions this upcoming season.
Head Coach, Martin Grubb had this to say:
We are delighted to announce the return of Kyle and we expect him to continue to develop and showcase his ability in our team this season. Kyle has huge potential and getting senior minutes in key situations with Widnes helped him but this season it’s time to show he’s ready for the step up and I know he’s already putting the hard work in and this will be an exciting season for Kyle with some huge opportunities for him.”
