John Dunbar had this to say regarding his re-signing with the club:
I am thrilled to be back playing for the Sharks. I thoroughly enjoyed last season as I adapted to a new league as well as learning the ins and outs of my off-ice role with the club. It was frustrating falling short last season and not being able to secure a playoff position. The team we have been constructing this off season is very exciting to me and I am eager to get back on the ice with my teammates. The passion from the Sharks fans is unmatched and I am confident that the fan base will have plenty to look forward to this upcoming season as we set our sights high”
General manager Craig Peacock had this to say about the re-signing of the Canadian forward:
I am absolutely thrilled that Dunny will once again be lacing up his skates for the Sharks. He quickly established himself as one of the top imports in the league and his play making ability and nose for the net is something that will be crucial to our chances of success this upcoming season.
Not only is Dunny vital to our teams on ice performances, but to have him alongside me on a daily basis in his off ice role as Head of Hockey Operations is just as important as we look to continue to grow the Solway Sharks in the local community and establish ourselves as the premier sports team in the South West of Scotland”
