The Solway Sharks are delighted to secure the return of last seasons Coaches Player of the Year, Stuart Kerr for the 2022/23 season.
The 24 year old will return for his 8th season on the Sharks blue line and will also be back as one of the teams assistant captains. Kerr contributed 30 points last season with 6 goals and 24 assists and was a key player as the Sharks secured the treble and his smooth skating style will be vital to any success the team has this season.
Commenting on his return Stuart said ‘last season was great for the team and I really enjoyed playing a big part in the teams success. I am happy to be back and will be looking to pick up where I left off and make sure I contribute every game. I have enjoyed being trusted as one of the teams leaders and like to lead by example and I can’t wait to get started again and bring more success to our supporters’.
Head coach Martin Grubb added “Really pleased to have Kerzi back as he is a huge piece of our defence. His skating, poise on the puck and ability to play under pressure is huge for us and he is so consistent in his performances. He showed his quality once again last year, logged a lot of minutes and was outstanding for us and we know exactly what we are getting with Kerzi coming back”
Stuart will wear his familiar number 6 jersey for the upcoming season and his jerseys are available to own and loan now. Please email sharkssecretary@aol.com to discuss the owned and loaned packages available.
