The Solway Sharks are delighted to announce the return of treble winning goalie Calum Hepburn for the 2022-23 season.

Hepburn, who was named Players Player of the Year by his teammates last season was outstanding as the Sharks completed the League, Playoff and National Championship treble and was a key re-signing for the season ahead.

The 25-year-old goalie is an intimidating figure in the net with his 6ft 4ins frame and utilises his size well and has really made the starting berth his own as he got better and better last season, cementing his reputation as one of the league’s best goalies.Hepburn played over 30 games last season and had a save percentage of 92.4% and gave the Sharks a chance to win every night including some eye-catching performances in the playoffs at Leeds and the National Championship final at Coventry, proving he is a big game player and one the club is delighted to have back.

On his return Calum commented, “I cannot wait to return for another season, especially off the back of the season we had this past year. I can’t wait to be back on the ice with the boys and playing in front of a packed rink, lifting trophies in front of the best fans in the league. I like the team we are building and that we are hungry to continue our success and that motivates me to give my team the best chance to win every night. I am excited to be back!”

Sharks Head Coach Martin Grubb stated “Cal was huge for us last season and it was important we made sure we got him back in our net. He showed last season that he is not only a great goalie but also, he has become a leader in our group and you can see what his teammates thought of him with the players player of the year award. He was very consistent last season and that is a massive help to any team, knowing you have a guy you trust behind you. I look forward to seeing Cal continue his form into this season and continue to get even better. He has the motivation to continue winning and that is an attribute we need to keep moving forward and we look forward to having Cal back.”

Calum will wear his familiar number 30 jersey for the upcoming season and his jerseys are available to own and loan now. Please email sharkssecretary@aol.com to discuss the owned and loaned packages available for Calum.
