The Building Craftsmen Dumfries Solway Sharks are pleased to announce the results of the Coaches Player Award for the 2019/20 season.

This award is selected by our coaching staff and is looked at from a team point of view and is awarded to someone who may not necessarily be the player that puts up the most points but is a team first player and is valuable to their team.

This year the award goes to a player who throughout the year played their way into having an important role in the line up and especially on the penalty kill with his all action approach to the game. He was very much an unsung hero in how he was happy doing the little things that go unnoticed like blocking shots, grinding in the corner and winning net battles and these things make a huge difference to any team.

This player was a guy who initially came back to this level of hockey and started as a fringe player but his attitude, effort and commitment has been exceptional from the beginning of the season and he is someone who ended up being thrown in to take key face offs and play on any line and for that the coaches have recognised the value he has added to this team.
